State Representative Brian Smith took the oath of office for his third term to represent the 66th Legislative District in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives. His district includes all of Jefferson County and various communities within Indiana County.
Smith remarked, “I’m looking forward to getting back to work for the people of Jefferson and northern Indiana counties.” He also shared his commitment to gun owners, hunters, and outdoorsmen, stating, “I’ll keep fighting to protect the rights of gun owners, hunters and outdoorsmen, and doing my best to defend Pennsylvanians from more senseless taxes and regulations.”
Before joining the House, Smith served on the Punxsutawney Borough Council, becoming its president in 2016. His previous roles also include board member and vice president of the Punxsutawney Chamber of Commerce, as well as president and treasurer of the Punxsutawney Rotary Club. In acknowledgment of his community involvement, Smith was named Rotarian of the Year in 2016 and received the Rotary “Person of Action” award in 2020.
