Senator Cris Dush and Representative Kerry Benninghoff have announced the allocation of over $1.1 million in Local Share Account grants for projects in Centre County municipalities. These funds aim to support infrastructure and public safety improvements.

Dush expressed satisfaction with the funding, stating, “With so many hard-working families struggling with ever-rising costs and inflation, I am pleased to have played a role in securing this highly competitive funding for the citizens I serve in Centre County.” He emphasized that these grants represent significant investments in community safety and quality of life.

The grant distribution includes $140,815 for Miles Township to purchase a municipal work truck, $118,117 for Penn Township to acquire a truck equipped with a snowplow and cinder spreader, $150,000 for Potter Township to replace Lake Road Bridge over Sinking Creek, and $700,000 for Spring Township’s initial phase of community park improvements.

Benninghoff highlighted the importance of state funding returning to local communities: “An important part of our jobs is to bring state funding back home, and these grants are an example of that. This funding is going toward public safety and infrastructure improvements that will benefit the residents of these municipalities.”
