Approximately $233,488 in grant funding has been awarded for two infrastructure projects in Clinton County, according to an announcement made by Sen. Cris Dush (R-25) and Rep. Stephanie Borowicz (R-76).
Sen. Dush stated, “We all share the benefits of an adequately funded and properly maintained transportation or clean water infrastructure. Strategically bundling infrastructure upgrades, drainage improvements, utility work and other quality of life enhancements whenever possible are proven methods for reducing overall construction costs, increasing public safety and minimizing disruptions for Clinton County residents and job creators.”
The Commonwealth Financing Authority is responsible for administering these grants.
Rep. Borowicz commented on the importance of the local routes being improved: “State Route 477 and U.S. Route 220 are critical routes that connect our schools, businesses, farms and communities, and they’re used daily by residents across the region. Improving lighting at this interchange is about safety and reliability. I’ve supported funding for this project for several years because better visibility means safer travel for everyone. These upgrades are an investment in the well-being and economic vitality of our communities.”
The Multimodal Transportation Fund aims to promote economic development while ensuring safe transportation systems throughout Pennsylvania. The Small Water and Sewer Grant Program supports various water-related projects including construction, improvement, expansion, rehabilitation or repair of water supply systems as well as sanitary sewer systems, storm sewers or flood control initiatives.
