Senator Cris Dush and Representative Stephanie Borowicz have announced a financial boost for the Central Clinton County Water Filtration Authority. The Authority has secured a nearly $2.6 million low-interest loan from the Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority (PENNVEST) to upgrade its filtration system.
“Securing this highly competitive low-interest loan is a proactive investment to ensure the safety and overall quality of central Clinton County’s water supply,” said Dush. He emphasized that PENNVEST enables cost-effective financing of these projects, sparing local taxpayers and residents, particularly those on fixed incomes, from financial strain. The project is aimed at enhancing water systems in Lock Haven and adjacent areas.
Representative Borowicz noted that the last inspection of the filtration system revealed minor corrosion in various components. “The upgrades are intended to prevent corrosion, extending the useful life of the system so that it can continue to provide quality drinking water to Clinton County residents,” she stated.
PENNVEST serves as a financing authority offering low-cost assistance to tackle water-related issues, impacting public health, safety, and economic development.
