State Representative Brian Smith has announced that the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) has allocated over $104,000 to support recreation and conservation initiatives in the 66th Legislative District. This funding is part of DCNR’s Community Conservation Partnerships Program.

The funding includes $65,000 awarded to Big Run Borough for improvements at Big Run Borough Veteran’s Park. Additionally, Marienville Trail Riders Snowmobile Club will receive $39,400 for the construction and maintenance of approximately 200 miles of trails across six counties, including Jefferson County.

“The projects chosen to receive funding are a great representation of some of our district’s greatest assets,” said Smith. “Our veterans and our extensive trail network both deserve to be celebrated, and this funding will help make sure they will be celebrated for years to come.”
