Senator Cris Dush and Representative Stephanie Borowicz have announced a significant financial boost for Bucktail Medical Center in Renovo. The facility has been awarded a $1 million grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development to support its operations.

Dush emphasized the importance of rural healthcare, stating, “Preserving and expanding rural health care is of paramount importance to me.” He highlighted that the funding is part of broader efforts to stabilize the hospital’s finances and improve its services. The medical center provides essential services including a 24-hour emergency room, acute care, and various therapies.

Janet Walters, CEO of the Rural Health Redesign Center, was praised by Dush for her commitment to improving healthcare in Renovo. This commitment, he noted, would help attract new businesses and secure economic stability for future generations.

Borowicz described the grant as “a huge win for Clinton County,” expressing gratitude towards Senator Dush and Senate Republicans for their role in securing the funds.

Community involvement has also been crucial in maintaining Bucktail Medical Center’s operations. Local residents have volunteered time for maintenance tasks at the facility.

Laura Murnyack, CEO of Bucktail Medical Center, expressed gratitude for the funding which ensures continued healthcare services in Renovo. She acknowledged support from state officials and local stakeholders who worked collaboratively to secure this assistance.

Nationally, organizations like the Rural Health Redesign Center are supporting Bucktail Medical Center. Janice Walters from RHRC pointed out that many rural hospitals face financial challenges but emphasized ongoing efforts to provide high-quality care through innovative solutions.

The community’s reliance on Bucktail’s comprehensive medical services highlights its critical role in providing necessary healthcare access. Murnyack concluded by celebrating community support and looking forward to additional resources that will sustain these vital services into the future.
