The City of Lock Haven has been approved for a loan of approximately $1.24 million and a grant of nearly $2.9 million from the Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority (PENNVEST) to improve its wastewater system, Sen. Cris Dush and Rep. Stephanie Borowicz announced on April 15.

This funding is intended to help Lock Haven upgrade its wastewater infrastructure, which is essential for public health and environmental protection in the community.

Dush said, “Clean, affordable and reliable drinking water is among the most fundamental needs of any community.” He added, “Securing this highly competitive PENNVEST funding will help maintain an economically responsible price for customers within the City of Lock Haven and surrounding communities.”

Borowicz also commented on the impact of these funds: “This important funding will allow Lock Haven to make significant improvements that will increase the efficiency of its wastewater system, enhance how it handles solid debris and improve the effectiveness of its disinfection process.”

Dush serves as senator for Pennsylvania’s 25th District and chairs the Senate State Government Committee according to his official website. His legislative priorities include restoring election integrity, reducing government spending and regulation, balancing budgets, opposing tax increases according to his official website, as well as advocating for constitutional rights and anti-human trafficking measures according to his official website.
