State Rep. Brian Smith announced that the Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority (PENNVEST) has approved $559.8 million in funding for 36 drinking water and wastewater projects in 20 counties across Pennsylvania.
The funded projects include the construction of a raw water transmission main in Lancaster County, a new sewage treatment plant in Clearfield County, and upgrades to a wastewater treatment facility in Perry County.
“Access to clean water and top-of-the-line wastewater treatment are the foundations of flourishing communities,” Smith said. “PENNVEST has once again provided important investments into dozens of projects with these goals in mind, and I’m proud to work with my colleagues in the House of Representatives to support this work.”
Robert Boos, PENNVEST Executive Director, stated: “PENNVEST’s continued focus on improving and investing in our water infrastructure is vital for strong communities. This work is accomplished through partnering with community leaders to make these investments to ensure increased access to clean water.”
PENNVEST was established in 1988 to support the design and construction of drinking water, wastewater, and stormwater projects throughout Pennsylvania.
