Senate Majority Leader Joe Pittman emphasized the ongoing efforts by Senate Republicans to implement permitting reforms in Pennsylvania. Pittman stated, “Our Senate Republican Caucus has long recognized the need to implement meaningful permitting reforms in order to expand job opportunities and grow our economy.” He highlighted that these efforts were solidified into law back in July, noting the temporary nature of Executive Orders.

Pittman pointed out the message sent by Pennsylvanians on November 5, stressing the importance of focusing on economic improvement. He said, “We know that creating a robust economy is key to combatting inflation and helping to increase access to family sustaining jobs.”

The leader also commented on Governor Shapiro’s recent Executive Order, expressing uncertainty about how it differs from previous legislation led by Senate Republicans. However, he welcomed collaboration with the governor and Democratic colleagues for future initiatives.
