Legislation to address concerns about pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs), provide relief to community pharmacies, and protect Pennsylvanians’ access to medications was approved today by the state Senate, according to Sen. Joe Pittman (R-41). PBMs serve as intermediaries, negotiating the terms and conditions for access to prescription drugs for millions of Americans.
State Rep. Jim Struzzi (R-Indiana) has been appointed to the Opioid Misuse and Addiction Abatement Trust by House Minority Leader Bryan Cutler (R-Lancaster). The trust is responsible for distributing settlement funds from opioid manufacturers, distributors, and pharmacy chains to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, counties, and municipalities for the abatement of the opioid crisis.
Senate Majority Leader Joe Pittman (R-41) provided an update on the ongoing budget negotiations in Harrisburg on July 9, 2024.
