State Representative Jim Struzzi has announced a significant investment in Pennsylvania’s water infrastructure. As the House Republican representative on the Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority (PENNVEST) board, Struzzi detailed that 33 projects will receive $216 million in financial assistance for drinking water, wastewater, stormwater, and non-point source projects across the Commonwealth. The funding includes $145 million in low-interest loans to municipal authorities and $71 million in grants.

“Local governments, facility operators and authorities across the Commonwealth are working hard to provide clean drinking water, optimize wastewater systems, replace lead service lines and more,” said Struzzi. “PENNVEST helps our local communities with crucial funding to protect public health and to ensure a healthy environment.”

The funds originate from state and federal sources and have been approved by the PENNVEST board. Applications for the next round of funding are open until October 30, ahead of the board’s voting meeting on January 22. More details about applying for PENNVEST funding can be found online.

PENNVEST has been serving Pennsylvania for over three decades, focusing on public health, economic development, environmental improvement, and water quality enhancement. It provides funding for construction, design, engineering, and permitting of various water-related projects.

For further inquiries regarding this round of funding or future applications, contact the PENNVEST board at 717-787-8137 or Representative Struzzi’s office at 724-465-0220.
