The project in Ligonier Township aims to construct sidewalks and a pedestrian bridge. “Pedestrian safety is a crucial aspect of a healthy and vibrant local community,” stated Pittman. He emphasized the importance of strong transportation infrastructure in rural areas and expressed satisfaction with securing state support.

Rossi highlighted the benefits of enhancing transportation infrastructure, stating, “This funding will not only improve safety for pedestrians but also support the long-term development of Ligonier Township, making it an even better place to live and visit.”

These funds can be used for various purposes including streetscape improvements, lighting, sidewalk enhancements, pedestrian safety measures, connectivity of transportation assets, and transit-oriented development.
