ADVISORY – ERIE – TOMORROW – DEP to Tour Family-Owned Company, Announce $1 Million Available in Small Business Advantage Grants

Borough of Clymer issued the following announcement on Aug. 19.

On Friday, Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) Northwest Regional Office Director Erin Wells will visit GeorgeKo Industries to announce the availability of $1 million in 2021 Small Business Advantage Grants.

Wells will see an equipment upgrade that GeorgeKo recently made with grant funding. As a result, this family-owned manufacturer of molded plastic parts for various industries reduced machine operation time by 30 percent. They cut their electricity use by more than 64,000 kilowatt hours, reducing carbon dioxide emissions by more than 51 metric tons.

Small Business Advantage Grants are available to small businesses and farmers who want to improve operations through energy efficiency, pollution prevention, and natural resource protection projects.
