2021 has 5.2% of Jefferson County residents unemployed

Jefferson County recorded an unemployment rate of 5.2% among residents aged 16 and 65 years old in 2021. That’s 1,084 people out of the 44,491 living in Jefferson County at the time, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The unemployment rate in Jefferson County has increased compared to the 4.5% registered in 2020.

The percentage of people unemployed in Jefferson County was less than the statewide unemployment rate of 5.5%.

Of the 19,875 people who had a job during that time, 18 were employed in the Armed Forces and 19,857 belonged to the civilian labor force.
