Sen. Cris Dush (R-25) and Rep. Martin Causer (R-Cameron/McKean/Potter) have unveiled a substantial financial boost for transportation projects in Keating Township, McKean County. The announcement, made on Mar 26, 2024, revealed that more than $914,500 in funding has been allocated for two key projects within the township.
The funding includes $400,000 designated for the reconstruction of the Bordell Road Bridge and $514,523 for the reconstruction of Reilly Hollow Road. Sen. Dush expressed the significance of this financial support, stating, "Keating Township has received significant funding that will be used to offset the financial burden residents would have otherwise felt for these critical infrastructure upgrades."
Rep. Causer also emphasized the importance of these projects, stating, "I’m glad to support these critical infrastructure projects that are so important for the safety and quality of life of folks living in and traveling through the township."
The grants for these vital transportation projects were awarded through the Multimodal Transportation Fund, which is administered by the Commonwealth Financing Authority. This fund aims to promote economic development and ensure the availability of a safe and reliable transportation system for the residents of the commonwealth.
The funding announcement is expected to not only enhance highway safety but also contribute to the smooth flow of traffic and commerce for residents and local businesses in McKean County. The focus on these rural communities showcases a commitment to improving infrastructure and overall quality of life for residents.
