Sen. Cris Dush and Rep. Kerry Benninghoff have confirmed the allocation of more than $1 million in state funding for three Centre County infrastructure improvement projects. Dush expressed his satisfaction with the funding, stating, "My team and I are constantly working to secure highly competitive financial assistance for the benefit of our local townships, boroughs and municipalities. It is always rewarding to see state funding return to the 25th Senate District to help offset or eliminate taxpayer costs for essential infrastructure enhancements."
Benninghoff, who serves as the Republican chairman of the House Transportation Committee, highlighted his advocacy for the Bitner Hollow Road-Middle Road project, saying, "I was more than happy to advocate on behalf of leadership in Gregg Township when they approached me personally about funding. These are the type of investments our constituents expect us to make in order to maintain local infrastructure, and I applaud the township supervisors for taking the initiative."
The grants for these projects were awarded through the Multimodal Transportation Fund administered by the Commonwealth Financing Authority. The fund aims to encourage economic development and ensure a safe and reliable transportation system for the residents of the commonwealth.
