Rep. Abby Major from the Pennsylvania House of Representatives has announced a change in the online system for criminal background checks required for those interacting with minors. This change affects her office's ability to assist constituents in processing these clearances electronically.

While Major's office will no longer be able to help constituents process these background checks online, they will continue to provide guidance and assistance with paper applications. Rep. Major stated, "Previously, my staff was able to assist constituents who lacked internet access with filing their background checks." She further explained that a recent system update now requires each application to have a unique email address, which necessitates a change in how her office can offer support.

The 60th House District represented by Major includes several townships and boroughs within Armstrong County and Westmoreland County. Residents seeking more information about the criminal background check process are encouraged to reach out for guidance on completing paper forms.

For additional details or assistance, constituents can contact Media Representative Tracy Polovick at 717-260-6358 or via email at tpolovick@pahousegop.com.
