Rep. Abby Major has expressed her support for the recently passed Fiscal Year 2021-22 state budget, which she states is focused on core government services without increasing taxes. In a statement, Major highlighted the allocation of over $2.5 billion to Pennsylvania's Rainy Day Fund, bringing its total to $2.76 billion.

"As we emerge from the COVID-19 pandemic that fiscally hurt many Pennsylvania families and businesses, I’m pleased to support a 2021-22 state budget that does not increase taxes on our hardworking residents," Major stated. She emphasized the importance of preparedness in light of lessons learned during 2020.

The new budget also includes provisions for establishing a Bureau of Election Audit within the Auditor General’s Office. This bureau will conduct audits of election results by the third Friday following each election, with the aim of instilling confidence in electoral outcomes. The bureau is tasked with creating corrective action plans if any errors or deficiencies are found.

"While I have only been in office for a few short weeks, I’m pleased to be able to support a budget that sets us on the path for a bright future," Major added.

Major represents several townships and boroughs across Armstrong County, Butler County, and Indiana County in Pennsylvania's 60th Legislative District.
