Rep. Abby Major has announced that her office can no longer electronically process criminal background checks required for individuals interacting with minors. This change is due to a modification in the online system that now restricts the use of an email address to one application per background check.

Major's office will continue to assist by explaining the process and helping constituents fill out paper applications. "Previously, my staff was able to assist constituents who lacked internet access with filing their background checks," Major stated. "A change was made in the system that now only allows an email address to be used once for background check applications. As a result, we have had to change how we can help residents in order to meet these new requirements."

The 60th House District, represented by Major, includes several townships and boroughs across Armstrong County and Westmoreland County.
