State Senator Cris Dush and State Representative Brian Smith have announced that the boroughs of Brockway and Corsica in Jefferson County will receive over $1 million in state grants for infrastructure improvement projects. The funding, totaling approximately $1,179,917, will help offset the financial burden on residents and support key upgrades in the area.
Dush expressed his satisfaction with the funding, stating, "Once again the 25th Senate District is receiving significant funding that will be used to offset the financial burden residents would have otherwise felt for important infrastructure updates." He further highlighted the impact of rising costs and inflation on hard-working families, emphasizing the importance of the funding in supporting the community.
Smith echoed Dush's sentiments, expressing his enthusiasm for the funding returning to their district. He acknowledged the expense of infrastructure projects and highlighted the significance of this financial support in easing the strain on residents. Smith emphasized that these improvements are crucial for the health and safety of the community.
The grants were approved by the Commonwealth Financing Authority and are funded from various sources, with a significant portion coming from the federal American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) money allocated for recreation and conservation. These funds are part of previous Pennsylvania state budgets and reflect the commitment to investing in infrastructure and community development.
This funding will enable Brockway and Corsica to undertake important infrastructure improvement projects that will benefit their residents. The grants signify the government's dedication to supporting local communities and ensuring their well-being.
