Senator Cris Dush and Representative Mike Armanini have announced a significant grant for Fox Township in Elk County. The township has received $1,617,435 from the Pennsylvania Broadband Development Authority. This funding is part of the Multi-Purpose Facilities Grant Program and will be used to construct a history and humanities center.

The planned facility aims to serve residents of Fox Township and nearby areas. It will include amenities such as a cybercafe and a wi-fi hotspot, which will support workforce development, education, and health monitoring activities.

Senator Dush emphasized the importance of broadband infrastructure for rural communities within Senate District 25. He stated, "Expanding access to broadband infrastructure, especially for the citizens I serve in rural portions of Senate District 25, is proving to be every bit as critical as our utilities and transportation infrastructure." He added that securing this funding is essential for advancing digital broadband projects and enhancing regional appeal for development and job creation.

Representative Armanini highlighted the center's potential benefits, saying, "The center will be a tremendous asset to the area as not only a gathering place but an opportunity for individuals to better themselves through learning opportunities." He also praised local officials for their successful efforts in obtaining this grant.

The Multi-Purpose Community Facilities Program provides $45 million in grants to community anchor institutions and local governments. These funds are intended for projects that construct or improve facilities open to the public, supporting work, education, and health monitoring.
